Make Up Academy Haul

A little while ago Make Up Academy had a 30% off sale with free shipping, so I got on board and ordered a few things. I've heard so many good things about MUA especially their eyeshadow palettes so I was interested to see if the products were worth the hype.

I obviously couldn't go past the prices of the products everything is really cheap, although it doesn't seem to affect the quality of the products. Here are the products I purchased:

Love Hearts Lip Balm - Great Lips
Concealer Cover Up Stick - Light
Gel Eyeliner - Underground
Intense Glosses - Sweet Nothings
                             - Sealed with a Kiss
Pro Brow Kit
Heaven & Earth Eyeshadow Palette
Extreme Volume Mascara

I got everything above for under $20AUD which is a massive bargain. I absolutely adore the eyeshadow palette, the shadows are gorgeously pigmented and there's a great mixture of colours.  My other favourites are definitely the lipglosses the the lipbalm, I love the formula of both products. If anyone's interested I will most likely try to do a review on some of the other products I got.

Did you get anything from the MUA sale?

Goldeneye

I finally got my hands on "Goldeneye". It is absolutely gorgeous, it looks like you are wearing nail foils, not a polish. The photos hardly do it justice. If you don't know "Goldeneye" is from the OPI Skyfall Collection. The whole collection is lovely although I had to restrain myself and only buy this one.

What do you think of Goldeneye? Would you wear it?

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque Review

Today I thought I'd review this little gem. I had heard so much about the Macadamia Natural Oil range and had seen some of the products in quite a few beauty blogger/youtubers monthly favourites. I always sort of dismissed these products due to the prices of them but the day came when my hair was really dry (well, more dry than usual) so I bit the bullet and decided to try this masque and I am so glad I did.

The first time I used it, I could not believe how soft and knot free my hair was. I also felt that my hair  stayed cleaner between washes, I'm not sure if that was because of this but it was just something I noticed. After using it a few more times I noticed my hair become much less dry and less frizzy. I now use it once every 1-2 weeks, just when my hair needs it. I think the fact that it contains macadamia and argan oils makes it really work. Also, it smells amazing.

I have used it about 5-6 times and I still have heaps left. I got the 250ml one but it also comes in two other sizes.

Cost: $39.95 AUD (250ml)

Where to get it:  Hairhouse Warehouse and any good hair salon.

Would I repurchase? Definitely.

Have you tried the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque?

What did you think?

Peplum & Polka Dots

Shorts: Sportsgirl
Shoes: Rubi
Necklace: Dotti
Sunglasses/Clutch: Sportsgirl

I didn't realise until I typed this how Sportsgirl centric this outfit was, I guess I'm just a huge fan of theirs. I especially love the colour of these shorts and they surprisingly go well with a lot of different things. Also these are my favourite shoes at the moment, I can't get enough of flatforms!

Would you rock a pair of flatforms?

And the winner is...

Lush Emotional Brilliance Review

As you're probably all aware from reading our blog Megan and I are quite the Lush fans. I did a post a while ago on my ten must have Lush products. So when I heard about the Lush makeup line 'Emotional Brilliance'  I was very intrigued. Our older sister actually gifted these products to me so I was really excited to give them a go.

Emotional Brilliance Translucent Face Powder $19.90AUD
I've never had any luck with translucent powders, probably because I prefer full coverage powders. This does a great job of mattifying my skin, the only con is the jar it comes in can be quite hard to get a good amount of product out and gets quite messy.

Feeling Younger Skin Tint $19.90AUD
This is quite possibly the best highlighter I have ever used, it is such a beautiful pearl colour and I love that it doesn't exaggerate my pores. A little of this product goes a really long way and it's definitely worth the money.

Charisma Skin Tint $19.90AUD
This is similar to feeling younger except it's a bronzer, this is absolutely gorgeous too. Perfect for a summery glow.

Eyes Right Mascara $19.90AUDThis was probably my least favourite product of the bunch, the wand was too small and I feel like for the price there is definitely a better mascara out there. It is great for those looking for a vegan mascara though.

Focus Cream Eyeshadow $24.95AUD

I love the formula of this and it's easy to apply with a doe foot applicator. It goes on smoothly and looks quite pretty on the lid, it's also great as a shadow base.

Motivation Eyeliner $24.95
I love this pretty teal eyeliner, the brush is super thin and flexible which makes lining your eyes extremely easy. It's great for subtle pop of colour and doesn't irritate my eyes like some liners do.

Glamourous Lipstick $24.95AUD
It seems weird for a lipstick to be in a jar with a doe foot applicator but this really works. The colours are extremely pigmented and easy to put on. They can be a little streaky but it's fine if you do a few coats. Gorgeous is a lovely blue toned pink that reminds me a little of St Germain by M.A.C

Passionate Lipstick $24.95AUD
This is a bright Fushia that lasts a really long time on the lips. All the Lush lipsticks contain Jojoba oil which helps avoid drying and they have a satin finish. It's best to be careful when applying this shade as they do tend to stain quite a bit - which isn't a bad thing.

Believe Lipstick $24.95AUD
I think I've worn this one the most, it's the perfect summer shade that seems to go with everything. Once again it's extremely pigmented and looks great even after a few hours of wear.
Emotional Brilliance, Feeling Younger, Charisma, Glamourous, Passionate, Believe, Eye Right, Focus, Motivation
Overall I think the Emotional Brilliance range is a great first step for Lush in creating a vegan makeup line, I love that the packaging is fully recyclable too. I think they have a really nice range of colours and products to choose from. If I could recommend the must try products I would recommend 'Feeling Younger' highlighter and 'Believe' lipstick as those two definitely stand out to me. It'll be interesting to see if they bring our more products. You can see them all here
Have any of you tried the Emotional Brilliance Range? What's your favourite Lush product?

NOTD #3

China Glaze "Sweet Hook" & Nicole by OPI "One Less Lonely Glitter"

I just thought I would share what I am currently wearing on my nails. I love pastel nails and I also love a little bit of glitter so I thought these two together would make a perfect match, and they do!

Do you prefer pastels or glitter?

Lust Have It November!

I received my Lust Have It box for November on Friday which was a bit of a surprise considering they usually barely arrive before the last day of the month. After last month's feedback Lust Have It promised to pick up their game and improve their boxes. I think they have taken a step in the right direction but they aren't quite back to their original standard just yet.

Included in the November Lust Have It was:

Model Co Fibre Lashxtend Mascara (full size)
This is the product that I've seen everyone most excited about, I gave it a go earlier and it seemed to lengthen my lashes quite nicely.

Davroe Hair Wellness Straightening Balm
Surprise surprise another Davroe product, I'm thankful I didn't get the detangler again and I get to try something else out but most of their products have been unsatisfying. It would have been nice if this brand was skipped this month.

Face Of Australia Purifying Cleansing Wipes (full size)
Again good to have another full size product but I always have makeup wipes so this wasn't very exciting.

Lomasi Body Creme
This body lotion smells really lovely, it's nice to try a different brand as well.

Star & Rose Hologram Tweezers
These tweezers are different but I have so many tweezers laying around at home.

As you can see LHI only included five products, two of them being full size. I know I shouldn't complain because it is better than last months but in comparison to this months Bellabox I can't help but feel underwhelmed with the contents. It would have been nice to see them include some of the brands they have listed on their site that we haven't received products from. At least we know they are listening to their customers feed back and are trying to improve the quality of their boxes. I will stay subscribed to LHI, especially because next month they have said they will be releasing new packaging which will hopefully be pretty exciting.

Did you receive this month's Lust Have It if so what did you think?

November Bellabox

It's another month which means another Bellabox, I always look forward to receiving my Bellabox and it's definitely my favourite subscription box at the moment. My last few Bellaboxes have been exciting with a great range of diverse products and Novembers box was no exception.

I can never believe how many products they include in their boxes, I guess that's the point of a subscription box to try out lots of different products. The products that were included in Novembers Bellabox are to prep us with the best summer staples so here are the 'Soiree Season Staples'.

Dr LeWinn's Facial Polishing Gel
I have wanted to try this forever but always put it back when I saw the price so it'll be nice to try it out.

Swisse Hand Cream With Vitamin D & Pomegranate
I just finished my Sukin hand cream so I'm definitely happy to have a new one to try.

Palmolive Luscious Mango Body Butter Body Wash
I used some of this tonight, it smells delicious like real mangoes love it already.

Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack
I'm always interested in Korean skin care products because I always hear so many amazing things about them so I'm really looking forward to giving these a go.

Dr LeWinn's Skin Perfect Primer & Dr LeWinn's Skin Perfect Foundation
I usually hate these sample packets but it'll be nice to use a primer and a foundation without worrying about it cluttering up my makeup drawers. Plus the rest of the box is so fantastic it doesn't bother me.

4me Nail Polish Remover Pads
I also tried these tonight and they worked surprisingly well, these will be great for travelling.

B by Bloom Cheek Tint
Love trying out new blushes especially cream ones, I look forward to using this.

Bioderma Sebium H20 Cleansing Water
I have used the Crealine version of this and it was amazing, I can't wait to use this so I can decide which full size I will buy.

As you can see I'm pretty excited about everything in this months box and I was not disappointed in the slightest. I love the variety in this box and think it's probably my favourite one so far.

Did you receive Bellabox this month, what did you think?

Products I've Recently Used Up

Today I have a mini review on some of the products I've finished recently. I didn't want to call this post 'October Empties' because it's far too late in the month, but these are some products I used up over the        past couple of weeks and I wanted to share my thoughts on them with you
Batiste Coloured Dry Shampoo
As the name suggests this is a dry shampoo for coloured hair specifically brown, so we can finally avoid getting those white patches. I quite liked this product it does exactly what it's supposed to and smelled nice. I will most likely repurchase especially in Summer.

Garnier Fructis Instant Detangler
I have the worst hair, it's curly and dry which means endless knots and constant struggling with brushing my hair. I have tried so many detanglers and nothing has worked as good as this. I love this product, although I did go through it really fast. I will definitely be repurchasing.

Sukin Hand & Nail Cream
I've had this product for so long now so I'm kind of glad to be done with it so I can try out something else. It's a good hand cream but the scent can get a little overwhelming after a while. I do like that it doesn't make my hands feel greasy though.

Davroe Detangler
Like I said above, there is no detangler I've tried better than the Garnier one. This was awful, it made my hair feel worse than before I sprayed it on and I just really didn't like it. I received this in my Lust Have It and no I would not repurchase.
Lush Dark Angels Cleanser
By now you probably know Megan and I are both fans of Lush, I bought this quite awhile ago and really enjoyed using it. It is a black paste so it can get a little messy but does a great job of ex foliating and getting rid of the days make-up and oil. I'm currently using a different cleanser but I would repurchase in the future.

Mirenesse Tinted Mineral Balm
This was received in my September Lust Have It, and if you read that post you know I was less than enthused about receiving it. Nonetheless I used it all, it was a weird tinted cream for anti ageing but it just felt like a thick primer or something and did not provide any coverage. I wouldn't repurchase.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
I loved this foundation, and was pretty sad when I finished it. It's the perfect everyday foundation as it's not too heavy for my skin. I also love the dewiness it provides. The only downfall is I can't seem to find my perfect shade. I will be repurchasing this.

Gorgeous Cosmetics First Base Foundation Primer
I actually got this for free at their Stall at IMATS this year, I really liked this Primer but not as much as my Benefit one. I do want to try some other Gorgeous Cosmetics products though.

Schwarzkopf Ultimate Repair Anti Damage Mask
Always on the hunt for a good ahir mask to help my dry damaged hair I tried this. It was alright but not a miracle product. I'm still looking for something great and would love some recommendations.

Nivea Daily Essentials Rich Regenerating Night Cream for Dry Skin
This night cream was great for the first couple of weeks but I think it went bad because it started to develop a weird smell. It did do a good job of keeping my skin hydrated overnight but I couldn't keep using it. I'm very happy with what I'm using now and want to do a post on my current skincare routine.

Hope you enjoyed this post, what products have you used up lately?

Obsessed: Twosies

As you all know I have become a little obsessed with matching sets or "twosies" as some people like to call them. I currently only own two (which you can see me wearing them here and here) but I have my eye on a few more. I have picked out a couple of my favourite to share with you girls.

1. Sportsgirl
2. Sportsgirl
3. Sportgirl (on sale!)
4. Sportsgirl
5. Topshop
6. Topshop
7. Sportsgirl

I love that Sportsgirl has really gotten into the trend seeing as it is very accessible, as with Topshop.

There are so many out at the moment and I want/need all of them.

Let me know if you love twosies as much as I do!

P.S. Stay tuned for our 300 follower giveaway xo
