Kardashian Kolors Nailpolish

Hi Everyone, I've been wanting to do a post on these nail polishes ever since my boyfriend got them for me for Christmas. I wanted these so badly, and they were really hard to find so I was pretty much shocked when I opened them on Christmas Day. They are the Nicole By OPI Kardashian Kolors.

There are 14 Kolors (sorry I'll stop that) in the collection I have 10 of the 14. There are some glitters and some cream finishes. They are all super pretty and I'll let you know more about what I think of them below the pictures...

As you can see there are some lovely colours in the collection, and the glitter polishes are especially awesome. I find they wear reasonably well and lots of them only need two coats to get an opaque finish. I'll go through each of the colours briefly, so if you're interested in a particular colour you can get an idea of what it's like.

Kendall On The Katwalk: This polish reminds me of a mermaid, it looks so pretty on the nail and I love wearing it. This polish has a blue base with more blue, green and purple glitter. It looks really awesome on the nails especially with a really shiny top coat.

Wear Something Spar-Kylie: This one is pretty, pink and sparkly it has a nice opaque formula for a glitter and goes on really nicely. The only thing I did notice was that it didn't have a shiny finish and you will need to add a topcoat to this to give it a nice glossy finish.

Follow Me On Glitter: This is one of my favourites, it's a grey/black glitter with added rainbow glitter circles. I love that they added rainbow to it otherwise it would just be another standard grey glitter. I found once again it had a slightly matte finish so you'll need to add a good topcoat.

Disco Dolls: This is basically the gold version of Follow Me On Glitter. A gold base with rainbow glitter circles, I think this is the most original and also another favourite of mine. This colour is pretty opaque and you only need two decent coats to get a good finish. I really like the brushes on these polishes they make them really easy to apply neatly.

Rainbow In The S-Kylie: Yes you've probably seen something similar before, OPI's Rainbow Connection is pretty much an exact dupe for this colour. I find this colour hard to apply and you have to move the glitter around on your nail with the brush to get an even coat. Aside from the application issues it's an awesome colour.

It's All About The Glam: This looks horrible in the photo above on the colour wheel. But I promise this colour is really pretty, it's a shimmery white. You need a few coats to get a decent finish with this and I did have some streaking issues. But once you get enough coats it looks lovely on the nail.

All Kendalled Up: This is a really creamy hot pink,  I find it's easily dupable but it's a pretty colour especially if you don't own one similar. Only need about two coats with this one.

Kourt Is Red-y For A Pedi: This is my favourite non glitter of the collection, it's a redish/coral colour and it's super bright. The finish of this isn't a creamy it's more like a jelly finish but it's lovely and I've worn this one the most.

Khloe Had A Little Lam-Lam: I thought I would love this colour, and don't get me wrong it's lovely but I suck at applying polishes and this ends up all over my skin and just looks really messy. I do love the colour though and you only need 1-2 coats max.

Kim-Pletely In Love: This is a baby pink but it has a bunch of blue micro glitter in it which makes it even better. The photo above does this colour no justice whatsoever and I would recommend this to anyone who likes pretty girly nails. You do need a fair few coats of this though, I've used a lot of this polish.

Sorry for the annoyingly long post, but I wanted to give you an idea of what the colours were actually like. I think all the formulas of these polishes are really good except for the thin ones where you need a lot of coats. I would recommend 'Follow Me On Glitter' 'Disco Dolls' & 'Kourt Is Red-Y For A Pedi' as they're probably my favourites.

Has anyone else tried any of the Kardashian Kolors Collection? Which is your favourite one?

Hope you liked this post, I've become a bit of a nail polish addict lately so expect more posts.

MAC Iris Apfel - Pink Pigeon & Flamingo lipstick

A few weeks ago the MAC Iris Apfel collection was released in Australia. I had seen swatches of this collection before it came out and I really loved the look of these two lipsticks. Seeing as I don't have a MAC store anywhere near me, I bought them as soon as I saw them online. "Pink Pigeon" is a really bright matte pink and "Flamingo" is a bright (but a bit more sheer) orangey/coraly/pink colour and is a lustre finish.

(Pink Pigeon and Flamingo)

I am really happy I got them, I love the colours a lot.

The only thing I don't like about both of these lipsticks is that they kind of stain your lips so when it wears off it leaves a ring of colour around the outside of your lips. I try not to buy lipsticks that do that but really, how could you resist these beautiful colours?

Would you wear either of these or not your cup of tea?

Sunday Swatches - Sleek "Storm" eyeshadow palette

I ordered this Sleek "Storm" palette on Monday from Crush Cosmetics for only $19.95. I only picked it up from the post office yesterday so I haven't had much of a chance to use it/test it out so I thought I would do the swatches before it gets grubby.
I have seen this palette on other blogs & YouTubes and the reviews have always been great - and now I can tell why! Just from doing the swatches, this palette is basically all the eyeshadows I will ever need in one sleek palette. The colours of the shadows are perfect for me, they're also super pigmented and buttery soft.  Sadly the black eyeshadow is slightly different, it's not very soft or pigmented - I'm not sure why this is.

I hope these photos show how truly lovely this palette is....

Another plus for this palette is the packaging, I love it! It is very sturdy - so if I travel, this is the only eyeshadow I will be taking.

If you would like me to do a look using this palette let me know in the comments and I will do that for you.

Hope you all had a good weekend!

Sunday swatching - Too Faced Naked & Natural Eye Palettes

It is a very rainy day outside today so I thought I would take this opportunity to do some extra blogging as I don't have that much time to blog during the week. even though this probably won't get posted until tomorrow (Monday). I have decided to swatch my Too Faced eyeshadow palettes for you. I have two of the palettes, one is the Naked Eye palette and the other is the Natural Eye palette. I discovered these watching some youtube videos and thought they were gorgeous. I have to say I wear the Natural palette a lot more than the Naked palette though they both have great colours. The eyeshadows are very shimmery so if you don't like alot of shimmer you probably won't find these palettes that great, luckily, I love shimmery shadows.

First off I will swatch the Natural Eye palette - the photos are all just with natural light from my window.

Warning: Picture heavy!

from L to R: In the Buff, Pillow Talk, Like a Virgin.

From L to R: Birthday Suit, Satin Sheets, Unmentionables.

From L to R: Pink Cheeks (this didn't show up very well, sorry!)  , Lap Dance, Stiletto.

So that is the Naked Eye Palette my favourite ones are Birthday Suit, Silk Sheets and Lap Dance.

Now onto the Natural Palette.....

  Heavan, Velvet Revolver, Sexpresso

 Silk Teddy, Push Up, Erotica

Nude Beach, Honey Pot, Cocoa Puff

My favourite ones from the Natural are Silk Teddy, Pursh Up & Honey Pot.

All of the eyeshadows are well pigmented and easy to apply.

I hope you enjoyed these. I really like doing swatches, I find them very helpful. If I am ever wanting to buy anything, I always google to try and find some swatches before purchasing.

If you like these palettes you can buy them here or here.

Let me know if you like these types of posts and I will try do a swatching session of various make up products at least once a week. If you have any request, leave them in the comments and I will see what I can do.

Hope you all have/had a good weekend.

Stila Naturaleyes Eyshadow Palette

A while ago my sister went overseas and I gave her a list of things I wanted her to get me I asked for the Urban Decay Naked Palette and it was sold out at the Sephora she went to. So she got me the Stila Naturaleyes Eye shadow Palette instead and I'm so glad she did. This palette is seriously amazing, I'm a really big fan of neutral eyes and a bold lip so this is the perfect palette for me. As you can tell by the pictures this palette gets a fair bit of use, in fact they're the only eye shadows besides my Buxom shadow that I actually use anymore. (picture time)

TR L to R top row: Bare, Kitten, Bliss, Sunset, Sandstone
BR L to R: Champagne, Gilded Gold, Luster, Night Sky, Ebony & Smudge Stick Eyeliner in Damsel
The best part about these shadows are that they are so pigmented I can use a really tiny bit on a brush and it will show up perfectly on my eyes. All the colours are amazing as well especially 'Night Sky' I love that it has little bits of blue glitter mixed with the charcoal eye shadow it looks extremely pretty used  for a smokey eye and I love that it's not such a matte finish. Another great thing about this palette is that it comes with a little book that teaches you how to do different looks using all the different eye shadows, it is really handy especially for beginners who are just getting into playing around with different things. I love the fact that this palette has some of the most coveted Stila colours, and the smudge stick it comes with are constantly talked about. I have to say I absolutely love the smudge stick, it is extremely waterproof and it's so smooth and creamy to apply and, I definitely want a few more of these. The only thing I disliked about the smudge stick was that I wound it too far and it broke off so I lost a bunch of product which I was pretty gutted about.

I have compared this to my sister's naked palette (which was so conveniently in stock at the other Sephora she went to) and I'm going to say I am so happy I have the Stila palette. I think the Stila palette works a lot better in it's natural form because the eye shadows are quite soft, where as the UD Naked Palette works best when the product is used wet (that's my opinion anyway). I think the only thing that get's points down on this product for me is the packaging, I just think it could be a little more sturdy. But in saying that I definitely 100% recommend this palette to anyone who is looking for a neutral eye palette. It comes with everything you need and if you can get your hands on one I'd say do it! It's perfect for beginners as well as it does come with the book and it has a decent amount of shades. It comes at a price of $39 US with a huge $118 value, you can get it at Sephora or if you're an Aussie like me with no friends or family in the states I'm afraid it's going to cost double just like everything else. You can get it from Mecca Cosmetica for a massive price of $80 AUD. It is quite expensive in Australia but honestly it is so worth it, and I'm glad my sister got it for me.

Has anyone else tried any Stila products? What did you think, or would you buy this?
